Happy to report that we are now the

FALL LINE SEED LIBRARY!

The Seed Library Logo Contest is now closed.

The winner will be announced as soon as possible.

Welcome

Thanks for your interest in the Fall Line Seed Library! We have two locations:

  • First floor of Ralph B. Draughon Library on the Auburn University campus

  • Lewis Cooper Jr Memorial Library in Opelika

Our Mission

Our mission is to rebuild a culture of seed saving, preserve locally adapted seed varieties, and promote a community spirit of sharing in the Auburn-Opelika area.    As traditional libraries provide community access to information, the Fall Line Seed Library aims to provide people with access to sustainable food and landscaping options.

What is the seed library and how does it work?

Our seed library is a collection of vegetable, herb, and native plant seeds available to the community. The basic idea of a seed library is that members borrow (or "check out") seeds in the spring, grow the plants, then collect seeds from those plants and "return" them in the fall.  Membership is free, but we ask that you sign up to participate.

We are glad you're interested in the Fall Line Seed Library! The success of this project relies on public participation, so thank you for keeping this project alive.
